Telehealth Services

During this unprecedented period, we are launching telehealth services (virtual physical therapy sessions) to continue meeting the needs of our patients. While we are unable to provide hands on care, there is so much that we can do to optimize and continue your care. Beyond Basics strongly values both physical and mental health, especially in stressful times. We hope that by offering telehealth we are able to provide piece of mind and continuity of care for our patients.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth is the use of electronic communication to remotely provide health care information and services. Our telehealth sessions are one-on-one physical therapy video sessions, completed over the online platform Doxy.me (which is HIPAA compliant).

In a telehealth session, we can guide tissue self-release, progress movement and exercise, offer education for other self-management, and perform any other type check-in that you and your therapist arrange.

We are pleased to offer 30-60 minute sessions, depending on what you and your therapist determine appropriate.

How does billing work?

Most likely, your current billing will not change, as many insurances are covering telehealth physical therapy sessions. However, for some plans, reimbursement rates may be different for telehealth services. If you are currently residing outside of NY State, please contact billing for more information on what services we can provide for you. All billing will be continued to be submitted by our staff.

Medicare patients: Under the current public health emergency, in order to lower exposure risk, CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) is now allowing physical therapists to provide services by telehealth.

Please contact us for further billing information and clarification at our Midtown office at (212) 354-2622 or our Downtown office at (212) 267-0240.

You can also request an appointment online.
